    The Arrow-rock dam was very big, and a great example of an arch dam. With cameras in hand, we were ready to take this beast head on. Railroad History. The Boise & Arrowrock Railroad was the first government owned standard gauge common carrier railroad.

Built inthe 17 mile long railroad connected the construction camp with Barber Junction just northeast of Boise. It operated daily, Monday through Saturday for construction purposes, except Sunday. • The Boise & Arrowrock Railroad This oddity, which became a segment of the Intermountain, was built and operated by the Federal Government to construct the world's tallest dam - the Arrowrock.
